Designing a Seamless Shopping Experience for an Eyewear eCommerce Platform

Overview

The client runs a well-known Middle Eastern high-end eyewear store that sells unique brand styles and collections. The brand has more than 150 stores in five countries that provide both trendy and skilled eye care. The client set up an e-commerce site so that people could look at glasses, make appointments for eye exams, and place orders online. The site also made sure that payments were safe and that the items were delivered on time. Because the platform was built by a third party, the client needed an outside QA team to make sure it worked perfectly before it was sent to users. That’s when they joined forces with Testvox.

Challenges

  • Making the web a safe place to shop They've been selling glasses for over 90 years, but when they decided to start selling online, they had to learn new ways to do things. They checked the platform to make sure it was strong, safe, and ready for people to shop online.
  • How to Pick the Best QA Group Because there were a lot of difficult steps on the platform, the customer wanted 5 to 8 experienced QA engineers who knew how eCommerce systems worked. It was also important that the team could grow with the platform and add more tests as it did.

Our Solution

A dedicated QA team at Testvox went through the whole site to make sure that customers had a good time.

  1. Back-end systems and data flow
  2. We checked how sales and data moved between the shopfront and backend systems like Akeneo, Saleor, Sanity, and Macula to make sure everything stayed correct.

  3. Testing out the Ease of Lens Setup
  4. Customers have the ability to buy correct prescription lenses and therefore, we reviewed a variety of different retailers, focusing on lens choice and prescription upload.

  5. Evaluating Shopping Experience
  6. We've meticulously assessed the shopping experience by evaluating the shopping experience by using coupon codes, discounts, placing an order, and checking out.

  7. User's Accounts and Order Tracking.
  8. Users should create accounts where they can log in and record prescriptions; users should also be able to pay for the order and track the entire order from purchase to delivery.

  9. Checking on Websites and Mobile Apps
  10. We reviewed the platform via website, iOS application, and Android application in order to ensure that customers experience an equal level of ease on all platforms.

  11. Add-Ons and Notifications.
  12. We have also ensured that our customers receive the correct notifications (via email and text) regarding their orders. We have also evaluated connectors such as Algolia Search and SFDC Data Cloud Exports.

End-to-end testing helped make sure that payments were safe, orders were handled quickly, and data was correct all over the system.

QA Help That Can Be Changed

Testing could be scaled up or down as needed by the customer because Testvox had a specialised QA team. This helped the company grow by letting them put out new versions faster and keep the platform stable.

Final Thoughts

With Testvox's help, the client was able to build a strong and stable eCommerce platform. Clients were able to quickly look through, order, and keep track of their glasses after they pass strict tests. After getting the right QA help, the company is now ready to grow and serve more customers in the area.
